Creating a Buzz: Mus Eades’ Formula for Business Growth
We caught up with Mus Eades, founder of Ambersun Perfumery, to hear how he launched his startup and harnessed the power of live video to boost his brand. Check out his inspiring journey and get his top tips for promoting your business below!
Give us the inside scoop on who you are, what is your business and what drives you to succeed!
I’m Mus, the founder of Ambersun Perfumery. A few years ago, I found myself stuck in a job that no longer excited me. With my wife expecting our first child, I knew I had to make a change and do something I truly loved. After trying out a few business ventures (including vending machines and construction companies), I realised the key to happiness wasn’t just about making money—it was about doing something that sparked my passion. That’s when my love for perfume came into focus.
I created Ambersun Perfumery to share my love for fragrance with others. I started by selling high-quality perfumes from top suppliers, and after a few bumps in the road (including a dodgy batch of perfumes), I didn’t give up. I took my products to the market, sold over 100 bottles in one day, and gained new followers. The real game-changer came when I started live-streaming on TikTok—sales took off, and I could finally see my dream turning into something bigger. Ambersun isn’t just about selling perfumes; it’s about building a community of fragrance lovers who appreciate quality and passion. And we’re just getting started!
What sparked your creativity to start making videos?
In terms of social media/content creating I’m still learning myself but it’s pretty easy when your know your products and to be honest with you, the blueprint for any “buying and selling” business model is the SAME. I’ve been buying and selling since I was 13 years old.
I just think of ideas in my head for videos and run with them , usually in one take. The minute you start trying to write or follow a script, you’re looking at 10 takes and jumbling up your lines
Be natural, be honest and just run with it!
What’s your top tip for anyone looking to use videos to boost their business?
Once you get past the stage of not caring what people think , confidence comes instantly and when you see the direct GMV coming from certain videos – your then keen to make more.
“Direct GMV” stands for “Direct Gross Merchandise Value,” which refers to the total sales directly attributed to a specific marketing channel or campaign i.e. A video with the product tagged below
What cool tools or tricks do you use to make your videos shine?
The tools use to edit and create my content are very expensive, high quality studio equipment and cameras.
JUST JOKING…. all you need is a PHONE , and I’m pretty sure we all have one. The level of editing you can accomplish on your is MORE the enough to create the level on content you need on a social media platform!
Where do you see your content and brand heading in the next few years?
In the next few years, we aim to become one of the top retailers in the UK for the brands we carry, already having strong ties with French Avenue. We’re one of only four companies getting access to new releases, which tightens the market and makes competition fiercer.
As we grow our presence on TikTok and Instagram, we’ll start introducing our own products, slowly phasing out other brands, and rebranding the company. The goal is to stock our products in major stores, but this will require significant investment in branding, manufacturing, and marketing. With the right foundation, we’re confident we’ll get there.
